ELEDA is a non-binary, queer event producer, educator, artivist, and DJ. She trained under Oakland’s hottest DJ, Gstar and in 2014 got her first gig at their monthly party, Hella Gay. Since then, she has DJ’d several parties and special events in the San Francisco Bay area. Some events include SomArts’ “Night Light,” “We Love Letters,” and Oakland Pride. In addition to being a regular at Hella Gay, she also produced a monthly QTPOC Day Party in Oakland called Awon Funka. In her own words, she describes herself as a St.Louis born, Oakland bred artist and DJ. She uses African culture to cross international waters and imaginary boundaries. With her musical blends of soca, hip-hop, Brazilian funk, dancehall, and deep soul tribal, she keeps her intentions in line with the African tradition of spiritual movement, spreading love, and building community.
