Double Outlines

Meet Double Outlines

Graphics. Paintings. Murals. And much, much more!

We are Double Outlines, created by husband and wife duo Kenny and Lucy in 2020. We are visual artists based in Long Beach. Our specialties include illustration, graphic design, street art/murals, and branding. Together we turn everyday, inanimate objects and empty spaces into visual works of art.  The main trademarks of our murals and illustrations are vibrant colors, shapes, and characters. These help to create a sense of fun and warmth that are both welcoming and familiar.

The preferred mediums of Double Outlines are spray paint, acrylic, and digital work, sometimes combining all three in one. The majority of the work that Double Outlines produces highlights subcultures that helped shape us into the artists that we are today. These include street art and graffiti, skateboarding, record collecting and DJ-ing, comics and cartoons, and kicking it with the Long Beach familia! Our work also favors tones of familiarity, community, and culture.

Kenny, our lead visual artist and creative director, graduated from California State University of Long Beach in 2011. More recently, he spent the last six years (2018-2024) as a product developer, graphic designer, and illustrator for a leading spray paint brand.  Lucy, our manager and head of sales, is also our visionary and driving force. With more than 15 years experience in sales and another 6 years in management, she brings a wealth of experience and knowledge that are essential to building community and relationships.

This image is part of a larger collaborative mural. The mural titled "Elevate and Evolve" was completed in downtown Los Angeles in December of 2024. The original design/artwork was created by Kenneth Morales and brought to realization with the help of Jayson Valencia, Shigero "Max", and Javier Pimentel. The mural can be viewed in-person at 1619 S. Hope Street Los Angeles CA.

Del Amo Family Plaza Mural (2021)
Full color explosion! This 25 ft mural can be viewed in-person at the Del Amo Family Plaza located at 2787 E. Del Amo Blvd. The mural features bright colors, fun shapes, and some of our favorite Double Outlines characters!

Hip Hop Don't Stop (2024)
This mural was painted for the B-Boy Summit 30th Anniversary in Los Angeles in 2024. B-Boy Summit Coordinator Asia One asked for a hip-hop themed mural to be painted live during the event. The photo depicts supporters enjoying the finished piece!

Seas The Day (2024)
This graphic illustration won 1st place in a skateboard design contest with the theme "Long Beach". The design will eventually be printed/produced by Push 4 Peace LBC into a physical skateboard deck that will be available to purchase for disenfranchised youth in the LBC community.

(2023)
This is a fun illustration of the Long Beach metro. What was once known as the Blue Line has now become the "A" line.
