Charl Kroeger

My goal is to offer a glimpse into the perspective that inspired me to take the photograph—inviting the viewer to see everyday subjects through a fresh, thoughtful lens. I strive to delve beyond the surface, capturing distinctive angles, details and compositions that reveal something deeper. Drawing on my background in digital media and graphic design, I find it rewarding to see how an original image can evolve into a more impactful visual narrative, while still preserving the integrity of the initial vision.

Artist Work

Art in Long Beach (2017)
I captured this image of the ART Theater marquee on 4th Street during the October 2017 wildfires, when the sky was cast in an eerie orange glow.

Reflecting on the Past (2016)
This single-shot photograph, taken in Florence, Italy, may look like a collage but is actually a reflection captured in the window of an antique shop—a subtle reminder that there’s often more to life than what initially meets the eye.

Batlló Backbone (2012)
This photo captures the balustrade of a staircase inside Antoni Gaudí’s Casa Batlló in Barcelona. True to his signature style, the design draws inspiration from nature—evoking the sense of a living structure, as if the staircase were the spine of the building itself.
