Last Friday, third-grade students at Signal Hill Elementary School performed a play based off of their English language curriculum. Arts Council teaching artist David Lewis lead the performances and spoke to the audience about the importance of nurturing children’s imaginations. In attendance, along with parents and teachers, was the Signal Hill Mayor Larry Forester and City Manager Charlie Honeycutt.
The performances were part of the Arts Council’s Passport to the Arts program that serves Long Beach third and fourth-grade students and teaches interdisciplinary arts education and cultural enrichment through dance, visual art, music and theater.
