On Wednesday, October 28 at 7 p.m., architect Wil Carson will give a talk at the University Art Museum about an exciting project the Arts Council is helping launch: the Mobile ArtSpace. Carson’s talk, entitled Mobile ArtSpace: Redefining Urban Public Art, is free and open to the public.
The Mobile ArtSpace is a portable event platform devoted to transforming the fabric of our city into a new venue for innovation, creativity and public dialogue. It is an unprecedented opportunity to create new and unexpected connections between the community, technology and the arts that both educate and inspire. Initiated by the Arts Council, the Mobile ArtSpace catapults the arts into direct engagement with diverse communities across Long Beach.
Wil Carson, NCARB, LEED AP, is design principal and co-founder of 64North, a Los Angeles-based architecture and urban design studio dedicated to creating more profound connections to the natural world, our cities and a shared future. His work builds on his background as a filmmaker, photographer and business strategist to advance architecture through a synthesis of ecology, economics and experience.
