For the third year in a row, the Arts Council for Long Beach has partnered with the Port of Long Beach for Port of Long Beach Photo, a three-part photography learning experience for amateur and professional photographers alike. The free program consists of a workshop taught by Port photographers, a twilight shoot aboard a boat and culminates with a photo contest and gallery exhibition in conjunction with October is Arts Month.
The Arts Council for Long Beach and the Port of Long Beach would like to congratulate the three winners of the Port of Long Beach Photo exhibition!
1st place winner, Norman Harris, “Dock”
2nd place winner, Denise Dube, “Tug Club”
3rd place winner, Laurie Mortara, “Last Flight of the Night”
We would like to thank this year’s judges, Brian Doan, associate professor at Long Beach City College and Stuart Ashman, president and CEO of the Museum of Latin American Art, as well as the 89 photographers who participated in the exhibition. Every photographer who participated has one photograph in the exhibition. To view the complete collection of photographs, visit the Port of Long Beach’s website for a rotating slideshow of all of the photographs.
This year’s exhibition is on view at the Museum of Latin American Art (628 Alamitos Avenue) through January 3, 2016. Admission to the museum is free every Sunday!
