My work is deconstructivist sculpture. I was educated as an architect and found inspiration in art history, form making, and construction. Architectural building material is used to compose the sculptures. Items, such as tile, mortar, and sealant, are combined to create reflective forms.
The work draws inspiration from Dadaism and Cubism, specifically from the artists Marcel Duchamp and Pablo Picasso. Within contemporary architecture, Frank Gehry, Peter Eiseman, and Daniel Libeskind, furthered a rationale that propelled a deconstructivist movement that laid a foundation for my work.
I am building on the deconstructivist movement by creating fractured geometry that is composed of monochromatic and colored pieces.
