Kat Lindsey

My mission is to create magic with light and texture thru paint. I am a self taught artist raised in Georgia now living in Long Beach, California. I believe all art is magic, and I hope with my paintings I can create a voice sometimes calm and beautiful and sometimes loud and angry. My voice is a reflection of what I see around me, art is life and death and all in between. I am a female painter and feel that through our voices we can make the world a better place then when we arrived.

A Jasmine (2020)
Oil on canvas, 30x30in. I love the texture of flowers so I used the colors to bring out the feeling of petals, and the Jasmine to bring a brightness to the painting.

Study of Amy (2021)
Oil on canvas, 12x12in. This is a portrait of my sister on the beach. I wanted to show the wind of the ocean and the light and shadows.

Malibu (2019)
Acrylic on canvas, 20x20in, I was inspired by the coast and my first drive to malibu. I layered the paint with a knife to create texture and bring the eye to the light.

Sunset Sails (2022)
Oil on canvas, 16 x12in, I live by the beach and love how the light dances on the water. I used a knife and oil paint, I layered the paint between wet and dry.

Stream of Color (2022)
Oil on Canvas, 20x20in, A picked up a knife and grabbed some paint, this is what happened. I hope the colors dance in your eyes like they so in mine.
