Frankie Greco

A black jazz musician, playing both trumpet and keyboard, is depicted in a cubist manner by Frankie Greco. Greco simplifies forms distilling them to sharp lines and angles as an homage to classic cubist paintings that have depicted other jazz musicians. “BLM” is written in white to the left of the musician explicitly supporting the Black Lives Matter movement all while signaling to the importance of jazz as an integral form of expression for Black folk in the United States.
