Monica Avalos

Monica Avalos is a Los Angeles based percussionist and educator pursuing her Bachelor’s of Music degree at California State University, Long Beach. She has studied with Greg Goodall, Randy Drake, Brad Dutz, and Craig Cory and is currently studying with Lynn Vartan and Ted Atkatz. She has received numerous awards at the Bob Cole Conservatory, such as the Cole Scholarship and Mary E. Israel performance scholarships. She enjoys performing in school, around her community and has had the opportunity to play under Esa-Pekka Salonen with the Colburn Orchestra. In her free time, Monica enjoys reading, writing, and values passion, kindness, and connection in her music.
