Ali Smith

I have long been interested in creating an abstract language of paint that is both intuitive and very focused. Painting is the medium that allows me to express the complexity of our lived experience and specifically, I hope to create paintings that are powerful, feminist, multi-layered and compelling to the audience. Often working in many layers, I combine draws and doodles with very heavy oil paint.
