David Puck
David Puck is a young traditional figurative painter and muralist, based out of Los Angeles.
Through colorful abstracted portraits, their signature work explores themes of queer experience and mental health. They are inspired by visual and conceptual dichotomies – realism and abstraction, narrative and obfuscation, humour and melancholy.
They have an academic background in Queer History from The University of Oxford UK, work closely with local queer communities, and is currently studying towards working in mental health support.
Their work has been featured in high-profile media such as Juxtapoz, Sold Mag NY, StreetArtNYC, World of Wonder, Buzzfeed, SF Weekly and LA Mag.
They have been featured on television in Germany (Berlin After Dark), Mexico (Jonas Vloggers: Asi Somos), and USA (Fox40 & Goodday Sacramento).
They have worked with notable figures like The Boulet Brothers, Meatball, Mayhem Miller, Hank&Henry Beauty, The Jonas Vloggers, Kat Tat (‘Black Ink Crew’), and Mayim Bialik (‘The Big Bang Theory’).
They’ve painted murals in Germany, Denmark, The UK, Spain, The Canary Islands, Nicaragua, Guatemala and USA. Notable mural projects have include Wide Open Walls, NYC World Pride, Oaklash, Art Share LA, Reno Mural Marathon and Meeting of Styles.
