On April 13th, 2019 Greenly Art Space will be hosting the opening reception for “ARTIFACT”, their annual fundraiser. On behalf of Greenly Art Space and the exhibition curator Kimberly Hocking (Director of Greenly Art Space) they invite you to submit your work for consideration for this show.
An “Artifact ” is defined as an object made by a human being, typically an item of cultural or historical interest. Artifact is a combination of two Latin words, arte, meaning “by skill” and factum which means “to make.” Usually when you use the word artifact, you are describing something crafted that was used for a particular purpose during a much earlier time. Consider looking at your life from the outside and unearth the “artifacts” of your artistic expression that speak to the characteristics of your work. This theme is open to a wide variety of interpretations. Maybe a work contains the remains of some earlier struggle, success, emotion, or time in your life. We ask that you consider the deeper underpinnings of this word and maybe consider what artifact you might want to leave for family and friends to know about your calling as an artist. Art submissions can include realistic as well as abstract works. You can create new work, or submit previously created work that fits the theme. All mediums will be considered including short film.
Deadline for submission: Sunday, March 24th submit up to three images to Kimhocking@aol.com, Please put “Artifact Submission” in the subject line of your e-mail. Notifications sent out March 31st- Art drop off will be April 6th and 7th- More details regarding drop off, hanging, etc. will be given to artists who are accepted to the show.

If you would like to create NEW work that reflects the theme, please inform us of what you intend on creating for the show, concept, medium, estimated size. You MUST ALSO send us images of your previous work or a link to your website so we may see your art style/body of work.

$20 admission fee (admission fee waived for artist)
Reception will include: art show, appetizers, and refreshments (for a suggested donation)
SHOW ACCEPTANCE/ART SALES
If you are selected to participate in the show we will require a nominal hanging fee of $20 per piece due at time of art drop off. Greenly Art Space will be given a 30% commission on any artwork sold during the duration of the show run. All participating artists will need to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with Greenly Art Space which will be forwarded to you upon your acceptance in this show.
Greenly Art Space will be partnering with a local non-profit still to be decided.
