David Gilmore

I have a paint on everything approach to art making which spans from walls to canvas to custom cut wooden shapes to surfboards to handbags to bodies. My intention with my work is to be inclusive. Hopefully anyone regardless of age or gender or race or identity can see themselves in what I’m creating.

Zappos Mural (2016)
This was part of a 10 city, 10 mural project sponsored by the shipping company Zappos and I was selected for the LA mural. It is located in Koreatown.

Silverlake mural (2015)
This was painted in Silverlake and lasted for two years until the building was sold and repainted.

Beople Buddies Dog Rescue and Adoption Center (2018)
Painted this patterned oversized dog perched on a roof with its leash hanging over the side waiting for someone to take it to their new forever home.

Adam Rippon (2018)
This is a style I've developed where I paint the subject in a traditional Victorian looking pose but the flip is a play with facial proportions and cover the skin with a pattern This is Olympic skater Adam Rippon and this is completed with ink, gouache on paper.
