Black History Month Author Event: Master Slave Husband Wife

The Friends of the Long Beach Public Library and the African American Heritage Society will present a conversation with Ilyon Woo, author of New York Times Best Seller MASTER SLAVE HUSBAND WIFE: An Epic Journey From Slavery to Freedom, and Long Beach resident Peggy Trotter Dammond Preacely, descendant of the book’s subjects, Ellen & William Craft. It’s the remarkable true story of the Crafts, who escaped slavery through daring, determination, and disguise, with Ellen passing as a wealthy, disabled White man and William posing as “his” slave.

This event is FREE as is parking. Doors Open at 1:30pm. Event Begins at 2:00pm
