Nathan Asplund

Nathan Asplund is a visual artist and educator based in Long Beach, California. Originally from Santa Clarita, he received his BA in Art with an emphasis on painting and illustration from CSU Channel Islands.

Working with a variety of mediums such as painting, drawing, animation, and collage, Nathan draws influence from suburban sprawls, punk and hardcore music, houses clad in halloween decorations, skateboarding, literature, and baseball.

Nathan’s work has been published in The New York Times, ProPublica, The Washington Post, Dartmouth Alumni Magazine, Tricycle Magazine & Golf Journal Magazine. His illustrations can also be found at the Long Beach Airport, and inside American Illustration, and The North American Review.

He is currently available for freelance work.
