Giovanna Noemi Montero

Giovanna Noemi Montero is an artist based in Long Beach. She is a queer latinx woman who was raised by Mexican immigrant parents. Her work focuses on identity, the intimacy between two women, and celebration of exploring one’s own body. Her work is known for being unapologetically queer, despite the homophobia that had permeated Latinx communities, even in her own upbringing of a strict catholic household. She hopes to inspire people, particularly young queer people of color, to know that their stories are worth telling.
