The Passionate Pursuits of Angela Bowen

June 30 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Written and Directed by Angela’s wife Dr. Jennier Abod, this movie is a powerful story about the life of Angela Bowen, a black lesbian feminist activist who grew up in inner city Boston during the Jim Crow era. Despite the many obstacles she faced, Angela went on to become a classical ballerina, a legendary dance teacher, a writer, and a professor at California State University Long Beach.

We would be honored to have you join us for this screening and to learn more about Angela’s incredible life and legacy. The event will be held on Friday, June 30, 2023 at 2 p.m. at Burnett Public Library.
