The Mantel Gallery is excited to announce our third show in our ongoing project “Even Six” six calls for art. “Even Six” is made possible in part by a generous grant from the LB Arts Council. Our third show will feature a new work by Justine Adeboyejo. Justine Adeboyejo is a self-taught mixed media painter from Chicago, IL currently living and making art in Los Angeles, CA. Her work is focused on the seductiveness of wonder, the permanence of anxiety, the inevitability of doom, and the relationship between all three. She creates subhuman creatures that are vessels for our collective fear and disenchantment. Their existence is just as much a product of hers as hers is theirs (and just maybe yours too).
