Inaugural CSULB Black Alumni Scholarship Gala

April 11 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

“Changing the Narrative for Success Gala,” Saturday, April 11, 2020 at The Pointe at Walter Pyramid, California State University Long Beach. This is our Inaugural Black Alumni Scholarship Gala presented by the CSULB Black Faculty and Staff Community. Participating in this event will help provide scholarships for tuition, book grants, study abroad opportunities, and other educational endeavors. Our community created the Black Alumni Scholarship out of the necessity to remove access and retention barriers for black students to achieve a quality education.

Enjoying a wonderful evening that includes hearing our keynote speaker, academic, author, preacher, radio host, and Professor of Sociology at Georgetown University, Dr. Michael Eric Dyson. You will also be able to join us in honoring and expressing our gratitude to the first recipient of the CSULB Black Excellence Award for Alumna of the Year, Attorney Michele Dobson, ESQ. and Community Members of the Year Mrs. Roberta Jenkins of the Jenkins Foundation and Three time NFL Super Bowl Champion, Mr. Willie McGinist.
