November 13, 2022 @ 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Immersive art experience to ignite all of your senses. Come tumble through the poetry Ria Kid and feel nostalgia come to life. The exhibit includes live music from the indie-pop band, Good Company, as well as food and drinks that are included in the experience. This iconic experience will take place in Long Beach’s historic Gilmore Recording Studio and will be the first of its kind. Art, prints, and other items will be on-sale for purchase. Please come with your phone charged so you experience the entirety of every exhibit. Most if not all art pieces have several parts and small children are discouraged from attending. This is an LGBTQIA+ friendly and encouraged event.

Ria Kid is from Long Beach and is a graduate of Polytechnic High School and CSULB. She is a bisexual, second-generation Afghan-American and her art is heavily influenced by her experience forming an identity in a time where the world had decided one for her already. The goal of her artwork is to be a queer voice in the Afghan diaspora and shed light on the challenges that she and many other queer Afghan-Americans consistently face. She is the author of the book, The Muse of Manifestations, a sapphic poetry book which CHISPA is centered around.

Good Company is an indie-pop band based originally in Seal Beach. The talented singer-songwriters are sisters and have been playing music locally in the Los Angeles and Orange County area for five-years. Part of that was playing music consistently for the monthly event, By the Porchlights, in which artists performed intimate shows in primarily backyards of properties. They are currently in the process of recording their ep.
