dana washington-queen is an artist working in time-based video installation, film, photography and poetry to examine the intersections of race, gender, and sexuality. Thematically, washington-queen explores narratives within black sociological histories, beliefs and rituals, sites of memory and fiction. Their interests include experimental cinema and documentary practices, video editing, film theory, black feminist and queer scholarship. washington-queen received a Bachelor of Art in English from California State University-Long Beach and a Master of Fine Arts in Visual Arts from the University of California-San Diego.
