Reflection of a Child’s Eye

Reflection in a child’s eye was painted by local artist Guillermo Avalos along with youth assistance from Washington Middle school. Avalos intention to include local youth assistants was integral to completing the piece. Everyone involved contributed a piece of themselves and their culture to represent. Avalos created a space for community involvement and creative expression that truly shows within the mural. There are many different styles of painting combined from children’s illustrations to more refined techniques.
