Sunrise: A Song of Two Humans Valentine’s Day Screening with Live Score!

February 14 @ 6:30 pm - 10:00 pm

SUNRISE Live Score with the Jack Curtis Dubowsky Ensemble: Join us for a special Live Score presentation of F. W. Murnau’s “Sunrise: A Song of Two Humans” (1927). It’s VALENTINE’S DAY! Special options to combine with dinner on 4th St. Retro Row!

Considered by many to be the finest silent film ever made by a Hollywood studio, this 1927 film represents the art of the wordless cinema at its zenith. Bored with his wife, their baby and the dull routine of farm life, a farmer falls under the spell of a flirtatious city girl who convinces him to drown his wife so they can escape together. When his wife becomes suspicious of his plan and runs away to the city, the farmer pursues her, slowly regaining her trust as the two rediscover their love for each other in this award-winning silent classic.
