In honor of our state’s entry into the Union on September 9, 1850, we’ll host a nineteenth-century-style fandango!
A dance lesson, covering waltzes, polkas, and set dances like the Spanish Waltz and El Coyote, will be followed by two sets of live music and dancing. Dance lessons at 4pm; live music and two dance sets at 5pm. Music will be provided by The Wayfaring Sisters, who specialize in the popular and folk music of 19th Century America. Walter Nelson will emcee.
This event takes place outside in the Rancho’s lovely back garden. Period entertainment and light refreshments included, and costumes are encouraged.
Active volunteers, along with those dressed in costume, receive a $5 discount on tickets.
