On Friday, October 12 from 6–9 p.m., the Arts Council for Long Beach will host its annual State of the Arts event in partnership with the Office of Mayor Robert Garcia.
August will be the last month to submit a microgrant for monthly review. Submit By August 15 to hear back by September 15.
Stories of Boundaries, a culminating exhibition for Arts Council for Long Beach’s 2017–2018 Professional Artist Fellows, opens Saturday, August 18, from 6–9 p.m. The exhibition features four Long Beach artists whose work exemplify artistic merit and professional achievement. The fellows are Kristin Beeler, Jose Loza, Brittany Mojo, and Gerardo Monterrubio.
The Arts Council for Long Beach launches the Drake Chavez Mural Project, an initiative that will install two public art murals along the western walls of the park. This project is in partnership with Department of Parks, Recreation and Marine and the office of Councilwoman Lena Gonzalez (1st District).

Councilmember Pearce’s Office is proud to announce the Grand Opening of the newly revisioned East Village Arts Park in Downtown Long Beach. The kickoff event will be an Open Conversations event focused on what residents would like to see in the Arts Park, and what process they would like to see in programming. The event will be topped off with live music.
The Dew Tour will bring local artists and the community together for a fun and free event open to the public from June 28–30. Dew Tour is an innovative contest series and content platform that brings together the world’s best skateboarders, snowboarders, skiers, artists, brands, and fans to celebrate competition, culture, and creators.
Make Music Long Beach is a free city-wide celebration which is part of a worldwide event that takes place annually on June 21st, the summer solstice. In Long Beach, we celebrate music as a uniting force and a common language in our very diverse city. Completely different from a typical music festival, Make Music is open to anyone and takes place in every district in our city.
