Great news: following Mayor Garcia’s State of the City announcement on January 13 to look into reinstating a percent for arts policy, Vice Mayor Lowenthal and Councilmembers Andrews, Gonzalez and Price are bringing a recommendation to that effect to the January 26 City Council meeting. Please attend the meeting to show your support! The request will ask City Manager Pat West to report back to the City Council in 90 days on the feasibility of establishing a percent for arts policy as an ongoing funding source for the arts in the City; and report back on similar models cities across the nation use to fund public art programs.
