PHOTOGRAPHER/ARTIST STATEMENT

I use photography as a means to see and document the world around me sometimes that which is overlooked or unseen. The exploration of things unseen or overlooked helps me see, understand and engage more deeply with who I am and where I am in space and time.

My objective is to create photographs combined with art that draws the viewer in and invokes breath taking emotions which allows one to engage with the beauty of life in deep and intimate ways. When I look through the lens I see the wonder of the world in each moment where time no longer seems to exist. It is all about that split second when my subject and I become one.

I use photography as a means of self-expression – I make pictures for myself, to identify with hidden qualities of my character, to better understand my reality, and to express my interpretation of the world around me

When it comes to my photography i dont like to be hindered by rules, rules are there for guidelines only. I believe that we as artist should subvert or break the rules sometimes to create our own beautiful pictures that attracts the viewer’s attention in creative and novel ways. Inspiring emotion within.
